Training organization

The Master's degree is organized into 4 semesters (S1 to S4), structured into compulsory or elective TU (teaching units). Each TU has a value in credits (ECTS). Each semester is worth 30 ECTS. The Master's degree is awarded on completion of 120 ECTS.

M1: First year of Master

UEs to follow :

  • In S1: Introduction: Physics, Mathematics, Algorithms, Cell biology and biological functions. Experimental Physics; Fundamentals of Radioactivity; Fundamentals of Health; Health Structures and Issues; Structural Biochemistry; English; PhyMed Project; Choice of one TU : Experimental Physics/Biochemistry Techniques.
  • In S2: Radiation-matter interactions / radiation protection; Radiation physics and propagation; Radiotherapy; Physics of biological systems; Cellular physiology; Detection and dosimetry of ionizing radiation; ICT applications in healthcare; M1 PhyMed internship; Choice of one TU : Sensors and image processing / Neuroprosthetics and medical robotics 1.

M2: Second year of Master

The TU to follow:

  • In S3: Physics of medical imaging; Medical imaging; Biophotonics and mass spectrometry; Nano-probe, near-field and evanescent wave microscopies; Techniques for protection against external/internal exposure to radioactivity; PhyMed project. Choice of one TU : Biology and Electronics/ Neuroprosthetics and Medical Robotics 2
  • In S4: Bibliographical analysis/scientific watch; Introduction to business/research;
    Internship in a company, hospital or laboratory.
