HAH713V Structural Biochemistry (2 ECTS)

Overview

Description:
The course covers the study of the structures of various types of biological macromolecules, primarily proteins and nucleic acids. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of interactions between these biomolecules. Numerous examples of protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid complexes are used to illustrate this course and to understand how specific interactions can occur. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to interpret and analyze all structural data on biomolecules and visualize their main interactions using 3D visualization software.

Objectives:

– deepen understanding of the structural biology of biomolecules

– learn the concepts of interaction, specificity, and withdrawal.

– be proficient in using computer software for analyzing 3D structures
