Lectures on Medicine and ICT (2 ECTS)

Overview

Description:
This course consists of lectures and discussions held on the Faculty of Medicine campus and led by national healthcare professionals. Each track organizes a half-day of lectures and discussions, and the entire class attends all sessions. At the end of each half-day, students write popular science and/or scientific reports on the topics covered by the speakers.

Objectives:
Gain an understanding of issues in the healthcare sector and its interface with the engineering field.
Be able to work independently.
Be able to organize one’s work over the long term.
Be able to write a scientific report.
Be able to synthesize and explain complex concepts in layman’s terms.

Required prerequisites:

A bachelor's degree in science or health sciences.

Knowledge Assessment:

Practical training through the writing of scientific and popular science articles.

Course Outline:

The theme of the lecture series varies from year to year, depending on the speakers’ areas of expertise and the latest developments in the application of science to healthcare.
